is an outstanding International and Australian artist.
Following a very successful career Jamie Boyd is represented all Australian
National galleries and many important collections worldwide, he is now the most
important
artist of the distinguished
Boyd artistic family.
After a prolific 2013 year, which saw Jamie Boyd travel from London for three
major exhibitions in
Australian
Galleries, Melbourne,
Canberra
Beaver Galleries, Canberra and
Red Hill
Galleries, Brisbane, Galeria Aniela showcases the new release
of modern paintings as well as highlights from his most collectable series of
artworks - For the Love of Art exhibition.

(born
1948) belongs
to
the renowned Boyd dynasty that began in 1886
with the marriage of Emma Minnie à Beckett
(1858-1936)
and
Arthur Merric
Boyd
Senior
(1862-1940).
While
Arthur Boyd
(1920-1999)
and
David
Boyd
(1924-2011)
both played a major role in the Antipodean group in the
late 1950s, and arguably are perhaps the best known of the family,
Jamie Boyd also
achieved national and international recognition.
An outstanding International and Australian artist Jamie
Boyd,
son of celebrated Australian artist
Arthur Boyd, studied
at the Central School of Art and Design in music and
composition, graduating in 1960.
Jamie Boyd has exhibited in
Australia and internationally in London, Germany, Holland
and Italy.

COLLECTIONS:
Jamie Boyd was born in Melbourne in 1948, he moved with his
family to London in 1959 and has been based there ever since with
frequent return visits to Australia. Jamie Boyd studied at the Central
School of Art and Design, London in the 1960’s. Tutored by his famous
father Arthur Boyd, Jamie began his artistic career painting landscapes
of Hampstead Heath and the English countryside.
Jamie Boyd's work
received critical acclaim from the time of his first solo exhibition at
the age of sixteen - an exhibition staged at Kim Bonython's Adelaide
gallery.
From 1966 he continued to exhibit in Australia and
internationally and a painting award allowed him to study at the Michael Karolyi Foundation in the Southern France. In 1978 Jamie and his family
spent a year living by the Shoalhaven River where, like his father, the
river and the rock faces became the focus of some exceptionally
beautiful paintings with tranquil landscape.
Jamie Boyd is an acknowledged
master colorist, his work is acquiescent, tender and soothing.
Jamie Boyd is an skilled draughtsman, his drawings demonstrate a
real virtuosity whether in pencil or charcoal. As an artist Jamie Boyd
is equally accomplished across a wide variety of mediums - pencil on
paper, gouache and pastel or oil on canvas. His paintings have often a
dream-like quality the vibrant images and shadowy figures regularly
emerge on his canvases.
